Capetonian saxophonist, Dan Shout, well known as a jazz musician and for his seven-year stint with the Johnny Clegg Band, teams up with Gordon Vernick, a world-class trumpeter from Atlanta, Georgia (U.S.A.) for this once-off performance at Evita se Perron in Darling. Shout and Vernick will perform a mix of jazz Standards and original compositions, accompanied by some of the most exciting session musicians in Cape Town, namely Andrew Ford on piano, Sibususo Matsimela on double bass and Unity Mzi on drum kit.

Gordon Vernick is the co-ordinator of Jazz Studies at Georgia State University and has performed in all musical mediums and freelanced all over the world. Vernick is well known for his jazz podcasts, Jazz Insights, which have had over 12 million downloads since May 2009.
