Description:

The fourth Darling Brew Extreme will be hosted in Darling on Saturday, 27 May 2017. The race will start and finish (for the second time) at the Darling Brewery. The Brewery offer riders and spectators a relaxed ambiance with family friendly surroundings, ample secure parking and locally brewed great beer! The autumn climate of the West Coast promises a pleasant day filled with exciting riding, chilled beers, classy entertainment and tasty eats.

The DBX17 will have four routes to choose from ranging from the super endurance long course to the less challenging short ride for the family, novices and youngsters. The four distances will make use of a combination of single track, jeep track and farm roads in and around Darling.

  1. The short 15km route starts in the same direction as the 30km. It has the least elevation and offers a scenic loop of mostly farm roads close to the centre of Darling.
  2. The middle distance of 30km, is a brand new route. More suited to riders who do not fancy the big hills, but still enjoy good scenery. We recommend this one for riders who did the short route last year, as it is a bit further and will give you a taste of only a small section of singletrack. The 30km starts in the opposite direction to the 45km on the south side of Darling.
  3. The middle distance of 45km, is one of the classics and is more suited to riders who enjoy a good section of singletrack without too much climbing. Most of the ride will be on Wolwefontein farm`s MTB trail.
  4. The 75km route will challenge the experienced endurance riders. It features a change this year with the route following a  figure of eight loop: passing the Brewery (Start/Finish) halfway through the ride. A cut off-time will be incorporated!! This new route will debut with a mystery section, offering riders the unique opportunity to test their hill climbing skills. All riders accepting this challenge will be rewarded with the best view over Darling. This vantage point is not accessible to the public.
