Would you like to join the network of whale spotters who report whale and dolphin sightings? The sightings information is used to provide an information service to residents, visitors and tourist guides.
If so, please attend a workshop arranged by A Whale of a Heritage Route, the organisation that collates whale sightings and markets whale watching from False Bay to beyond Lambert’s Bay.
The date and time is this Saturday 25 June from 14h30 til 16h00 at Ormonde Wine Estate in Darling.
Topics to be covered include how whales and dolphins feed, how they hear, their size relevant to an elephant, identification tips and surface behaviour, breeding, anatomy and threats to their existence.
Each participant will receive a copy of an educational poster on whales and dolphins.
What to bring: a pencil or pen to make notes.
Minimum group size: 45 pax.
Fee: Juniors and pensioners: R20 pp. Adults and high schoolers: R30 pp.
