My family enjoys getaways and discovering small town South Africa. I am on a constant lookout for family friendly hotels and activities and was blown away by the staff at the Protea Hotel by Marriott® Saldanha Bay. The staff at the hotel were incredibly welcoming and they paid special attention to my two boys. My sons each received a kiddies pack filled with chips, sweets and a juice.
We arrived after a mini road trip from Cape Town, to a Saldanha Bay and after booking in we made our to our room, which consisted of 2 double beds, a nice clean bathroom, TV and coffee and tea facilities. Most importantly, the room had an air conditioner.
After warming up in front of their impressive fireplace, we went out to explore the surrounds and found the Hoetjes Bay Cultural Heritage Centre, which was unfortunately closed at the time. However, the views from the Cultural Centre were amazing.
That evening we took a quick drive to Langebaan where we had a delicious dinner at Pearly’s right on the lagoon. Their prawns were so huge!
The next morning we made our way to the Protea Hotel by Marriott® Saldanha Bay restaurant for breakfast, and my goodness was it amazing. From cereals, to fruit, to eggs, bacon and sausages – it was truly a wonderful spread.
I highly recommend the Protea Hotel in Saldanha Bay for a family getaway, and will definitely be back for a visit soon.
