Visitors can expect ‘ALL THINGS CHRISTMAS’ at Groote Post’s December Market – with decorations and gifts galore, a Children’s Christmas Show, Father Christmas entertaining the children and more….
The Groote Post Christmas Market will be a perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the shopping malls and find unique gifts for your loved ones while soaking up the jolly atmosphere enjoying a family outing in the country.
Groote Post will be a hive of festive activity, brimming with market stalls, splendidly decorated and showcasing their Christmas wares which will make for special gifts and stocking-fillers. Expect delicious and beautiful country offerings including arts and crafts, home-ware, clothing, décor, jewellery, accessories, toys, artisan foods and more…
Local is always lekker at Groote Post with a divine selection of Darling gourmet produce including burgers, breads, cheese, cured meats, olive oils, preserves, the popular Darling Brew and of course Groote Post’s well-loved wines which will be available for tasting and purchase by the glass, bottle or case.
After browsing through the market, visitors will be relaxing under the trees while tucking into their delicious eats from the market. Groote Post’s award-winning restaurant, Hilda’s Kitchen, will be open as usual, but booking is essential.
The Christmas Market will present a perfect playground for children who will love the rolling lawns and popular playground as well as the tractor rides, face painting and sand-art to name a few of the activities that will be available. To top it all Father Christmas will be handing out sweets to all the children and The Bop Boppers www.bopboppers.co.za will be presenting Children’s Christmas Show.
Music is always a key part of the Market. Highly-acclaimed Cape Town musician, Francois Haasbroek, will be entertaining the market-goers with folk and acoustic rock-styled covers, popular favourites, golden oldies and classic songs that never go out of style. Directions
Follow the R27, the West Coast Road towards Langebaan. Turn right onto the Darling Hills Road opposite Grotto Bay turnoff. After 10 km, turn right to the Groote Post cellar. Alternatively, take the R307 out of Darling towards Cape Town and turn off at the Darling Hills Road. After 7km turn left to the Groote Post Cellar.
