Mamre Werf #StoepStories at Rapport Holiday Show

Mamre Werf #StoepStories at Rapport Holiday Show

James Vos, Member of Parliament and Shadow Minister of Tourism, will launch Tori Oso’s #StoepStories at the Rapport Cape Holiday Show at 10 am on Saturday 20 September 2017. #StoepStories answers the Department of Tourism’s call to action for all South Africans to contribute to tourism as part of their #WeDoTourism movement launched at Indaba 2017.

Tori Oso Geselshuisie is a coffee shop owned by a local pair of sisters who have created a hub for their community and tourists alike in the quiet town of Mamre. Tori Oso means ‘to chat’ in Surinaams and their #StoepStories will reflect the rich heritage of the Cape West Coast with members of the community sharing their history and culture in their own words.

Tori Oso is also the starting point of the Mamre Werf Heritage Walk developed by West Coast Way to showcase the nine historic buildings of the Moravian Mission Station. The route can be explored as a self-guided tour or a community volunteer can be hired as a guide for a richer experience. The Mamre Werf Heritage Walk map is now included in the latest West Coast Way guide.
