Description: Each year we celebrate the grape harvest by inviting you to join us for a fun day at Darling Cellars.A full day celebration featuring a grape stomp competition, kids Easter egg hunt and live music and entertainment. Please remember to bring cash to buy fresh produce from the Darling area at the pop up stalls.
Kids and adults get the chance to go back in time to the days when wine grapes were stomped by foot. That’s right, you can roll up the pant legs, and jump right in. No shortage of laughs and smiles here.Expect to get dirty. The tubs of grapes are not very deep, but you will get splashed, so dress appropriately. You will want to wear loose-leg pants (or shorts) so you can roll up the legs. Or, by all means ruin your pants… up to you. Plan for purple toes for a while.
Start the day with a healthy breakfast of yogurt, mosbolletjies, fruit juice and tea or coffee. The tractors and wagons will be waiting to take you to pick your own grapes in the vineyard. Back at the cellar, the fun begins. There is a prize for the team who stomps the most juice. There will be a live band providing music during the festival. Children are encouraged to enjoy the festivities. There is a jumping castle for them to play on and activities such as Easter egg hunt and face painting will be provided.
Design your own wine label. The best label design will be on the Crush wine that will be ready to be collected in September 2017.
Lunch (lamb on the spit) will be served at 13h00. You are welcome to spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing in the shade sipping on a glass of ice cold Sauvignon Blanc…and of course, we encourage you to purchase wine to take home.Just remember, cars can get quite hot in the sun, and wine is allergic to sun and heat.
Please join us and enjoy the sights, sounds, and aromas of this exciting harvest season.

Part of the Culture Route | Darling
Description:
From DF Malan to JG Zuma It is 30 years since Pieter‑Dirk Uys started his total onslaught on politics with Adapt or Dye in 1981. Everything has changed so radically that some issues have become the same! Julius Malema’s recent outbursts have led to some citizens enquiring about emigration. An ANC spokesman added fuel to the fire by suggesting that ‘all cowards can go if they can’t take the future here’. Adapt or Fly! 1981 and today rollick hand‑in‑hand through the ups and downs of South African politics. It’s even funnier now, while it also still chills to the bone.

Evita’s Human Rights
Date: 21 March
Time: 14:00
Location: Evita se Perron, Darling
Contact: 022 492 3930 or email her at [email protected]
Description: For many South Africans the Constitution that protects us all today also introduced a new awareness: we all have rights. We are not only human, we are also citizens of a nonracial, nonsexist (and sometimes nonsensical) democracy and are free to ask questions. Evita has been in politics all her life, often not through choice and that reflects so many of our lives today. Let us realize that politics is here today and gone tonight. It is our right to demand answers. It is our right to expect more from government. It is our right to laugh at the corrupt, the lazy, the careless and the arrogant in politics. Maybe they will go away!
