!Khwattu – San Spirit Shared
We live here and still struggle to pronounce the name!
Our first stop is at the award-winning San Heritage Centre, !Khwattu. Here the gap between the past and future is bridged, and you will have a truly soulful experience. The San have a rich and ancient heritage and if you want to know more about South Africa and its first people then a visit to !Khwa ttu is a must!
West Coast National Park – Biodiversity Paradise
And then we head over to a paradise for hikers, cyclists, and nature-lovers. This gem is situated 1.5hrs out of the city smog surrounded by fynbos, the Atlantic Ocean and the azure blue waters of the Langebaan lagoon. The West Coast National Park is one of the most beautiful untouched treasures our country has to offer.
This beautiful landscape attracts numerous water birds, Paleatric, and rare migrant waders. This is one of South Africa’s most important bird areas, and the Lagoon holds a Ramsar Wetland status as a result. Langebaan lagoon is 16 km long and no wider than 3 km at any given point. All that lies between it and the Atlantic Ocean is the Langebaan Peninsula, 15 km long and 2 km wide, peppered by large granite outcrops known as Vlaeberg.
Thali Thali Game Lodge – #myfirstsafari
Next up: Time for a Thali Thali West Coast guided game drive. Go out on the drive with one of the local expert trackers and guides to find: Kudu, Oryx, Giraffe, Red Hartebeest, Eland, Zebra, Springbok, Black Wildebeest, Duiker, Bontebok, and Steenbok. As there are no predators in the park, guests are free to explore on foot to view the birds and animals. Game drives are in customized open game viewer pick-up or game trailers. Thali Thali is a 1.460 hectare Cape West Coast Game and Fynbos reserve situated just one hour drive from Cape Town.
Explore the Berg River in Port Owen on a Boat Cruise and taste Charlies Brewhouse’s craft beers and local wine before you head out to Darling Brew in the beautiful town of Darling.
Established in 2010, Darling Brew is one of South Africa’s most well established and award-winning microbreweries. They brew a wide range of great craft beers that are loved for their flavour, high-quality ingredients, and slow brewing process.
