The Darling Wildflower Show: A Carnival Of Wildflowers

The Darling Wildflower Society has been around for more than a century and the Society’s Darling Wildflower Show takes place annually over the third weekend in September. It celebrates an integral part of the Cape Fynbos Kingdom comprised of Renosterveld, Rietveld, Sandveld, and Strandveld where more than 1200 different species of owers can be found.

The show will be celebrating 102 years with the theme: Conservation and the next generation. The display will focus on the Wild ower Society’s development over the past 102 years as well as the Herbarium project.

The Darling Wildflower Show is an outing that aims to entertain young and old. Tickets to the show include access to:

• The Landscaped Hall depicting the flowers of the area in their natural habitat,

• A Craft & Gourmet Food Market,

• A Veteran Tractor/Car display

• An entertainment tent featuring live music from local acts

• A shuttle service from the show grounds to local attractions

• Safe and secure parking for vehicles.

With more than a hundred food and craft stalls planned for the weekend, everyone’s taste buds and shopping needs will be catered for! Kids can have loads of fun in the playpark area, with entertainment ranging from face-painting to rides, while adults can relax in the Mini Wine Route Tent.

In addition, there will be a shuttle driving through Darling, and stopping at places of interest including the Darling Museum, Evita’s Perron, Duckitt Nurseries, Darling Main Road and the Renosterveld Reserve.

Your entrance fee to the Darling Wild ower Show will help to conserve our endangered oral kingdom for future generations, so join us at the Darling Wild ower Show and contribute to conservation in our area!
