Yesterday, South Africa and the world, celebrated Mandela Day by dedicating 67 minutes to their communities, volunteering at various organizations and more! Social Media was buzzing with everyone’s initiatives, big and small. The West Coast Way team, Club Mykonos, and participating brands collected 67 blankets for the Siyabonga Care Village in Vredenburg, which was handed over with great fanfare.

Club Mykonos Celebrates Mandela Day
The Club Mykonos team were out in full force yesterday, spreading Mandela Day joy in the Cape West Coast! Here are some of the things they got involved with:
They supplied shelves and helped paint the school interior at Diazville Primary School in Saldanha.
They facilitated food and supplies for animals at the Saldanha Animal Care
They donated a secondhand microwave, stove, and fridge to Sisonki in Vredenburg
Donation of 270 stationery items for the children, along with sweetie packs, at Karitas in Vredenburg.
Donation of around 22 pairs of running shoes for the children at the Langebaan Athletics Club
Facilitating food and supplies for animals at Langebaan Animal Care
Hading over Afrikaans books and sweetie pack to children between the ages of 4 – 12 at the Velddrif/Noordhoek Soup Kitchen
Handing out food parcels and household goods for 21 households at De Gewels Old Age Home in Hopefield
Supplying food, toys, and clothes to children at Huis van Heerden in Moorreesburg.
