DON’T MISS GROOTE POST’S SPRING MARKET ON SUNDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER
With the West Coast spring flowers ablaze in bloom
With the West Coast spring flowers ablaze in bloom and summer knocking on the door, the Pentz family invites you to join them at their Spring Market on Sunday 27th September.
The September market will be overflowing with the essence of spring, with all the market stalls colourfully adorned with flowers and showcasing their finest spring fare, and the seating area decorated with spring flowers from the farm. It will be the ideal time to soak up the “soft balmy sunshine and the flower-scented air”, according to Groote Post’s very own ‘Grande Dame of Cape Cuisine’, Hildagonda Duckitt, who so loved the West Coast spring splendour with its “magnificent tapestry of flowers”.
Look out for Groote Post’s newly released 2015 wines as this harvest is reputed to be one of the best ever. Must-haves will be the ever popular Groote Post Sauvignon Blanc 2015 and of course the Groote Post Pinot Noir Rosé 2015 which is made exclusively for the monthly markets.
Guests can expect delectable and beautiful country offerings including artisan foods, arts and crafts, as well as home-ware and décor. All the old favourite stalls will be back, as well as some new exciting ones. Local, of course, is always lekker in Darling with locals presenting a divine selection of gourmet produce including breads, cheese, mushrooms, charcuterie, wors, sauces, olive oils and more. And a big hit as always will be popular craft beers from Darling Brew.
The Spring Market will present a perfect playground for children who will love the rolling lawns, tractor rides, face painting, water-balls and target-shooting to name a few of the activities that will be available. And the sheep-shearing demonstration will be popular with both kids and adults.
After browsing through the market, visitors can relax in the shade under the trees enjoying the DJ’s music while tucking into their delicious eats from the market. Groote Post’s award-winning restaurant, Hilda’s Kitchen, will be open as usual, but please note that booking is essential.
Please note that although pets are welcome – all dogs must be on a leash at all times. Visitors arriving without their dogs on a leash will be given an option to buy one from the SPCA stall or hire one at the information stall.
Entry to the Groote Post Country Market is free of charge.
