The first Saldanha Experience takes place on 27 & 28 July and includes a three-course dinner and wine pairing with Luke & Katie Wonnacott on Friday evening, accommodation and breakfast at the beautiful Blue Bay Lodge, as well as a boat-based tour of Saldanha Bay’s oyster beds and mussel rafts at the hand of local seafood grower Kevin Ruck (with a glass of MCC in hand, no less).

To top it all off, lunch will be served long-table style in King Solomon’s Factory. Expect all-you-can-eat mussels and oysters in all shapes, forms and finger-licking guises.

Friday Night 27 July, 19:30: Executive Chef Eugene Johnson fuses his love of French and Italian cuisine to bring you an interactive 5-course seafood experience paired with a selection of vibrant wines. This past Head Chef at Reuben’s in Paternoster will take you on a unique gastronomic journey, showcasing his love of the sea, and his passion for local ingredients.

Saturday Morning 28 July: After breakfast you’ll head off to a unique experience of the Saldanha Bay with Blue Sapphire oyster grower guru, Kevin Ruck. With a glass of MCC in hand you’ll be transported by boat through the oyster beds and mussel rafts, learning how the world’s two most sustainable seafoods are nurtured and harvested.

Saturday Afternoon 28 July: Safely ashore, you’ll be invited to experience a pop-up Lang Tafel lunch presented by chef Kyle Dods, owner of The Mussel Monger & Oyster Bar, paired with local wines and beers, and hosted within the historical working & rustic Saldanha Bay seaside factory.

After the Lang Tafel Experience guests are welcome to return to the hotel for live entertainment and a cosy fireplace to warm up.
