We head north in air-conditioned mini-buses to Darling. The town of Darling is nestled amongst the vineyards, wheat fields and nature reserves with a character all of its own. Home to some magnificent wine estates and farms, you will have time to walk through the village and soak up the atmosphere of its unique heritage.
Our first stop this morning is at one of the region’s world-class wine estates (either Groote Post or Darling Cellars or Cloof or Ormonde) for a wine tasting. Learn what makes these wines so sought after!
After your wine stop the trip continues to the unique Evita se Perron – the theatre and playground of South Africa’s most famous ‘tannie’ (aunt) Evita Bezuidenhout. Here you will get to enjoy a lunch and show! Walk through the Perron’s garden and learn about South Africa’s troubled past – sprinkled with humour and art pieces named ‘Gravy Train’ and ‘Burassic Park’.
After Evita se Perron we head to Darling Brew for a beer tasting and the inside scoop on how South Africa’s best craft beer is made. We return to Cape Town with amazing photos and fond memories.
