Thali Thali Game Lodge is big on family! Owned by Thys and Amalia van Niekerk, who share two lovely daughters, Daniella and Almari, the Van Niekerk family sees Thali Thali as their calling in life where they can live out their passions to the fullest.
Before owning Thali Thali Game Lodge the couple used to produce export and wine grapes, as well as pomegranates, figs and vegetables. Beside this, they still found themselves being eager to entertain guests. Thys would accompany visitors to game farms and Amalia would do the catering and décor for special occasions. Now they bring all their passions to life with Thali Thali Game Lodge.

Get your adventure on
Get adventuring in true Thali Thali style by showing off your archery skills. Their 3D archery range is a simulation of real-life hunting encounters where guests get to take on 23 life-sized rubber animal targets. Adventurers who are archery newbies can book lessons with their coaches, and old-timers are welcome to bring their own beloved bows (bow rental is also available at the bow shop on the premises).
Boasting a wide range of game, visitors can spot kudu, giraffe, blue wildebeest, eland, zebra, sable antelope, springbok, and oryx – to name a few – while venturing on a game drive through the nature reserve. The 90-minute-long game drive also allows passengers a sightseeing of none other than the African Cape Buffalo. The reserve is fortunate enough to have Cape Buffalo on their species list as these imposing animals are proudly part of the Big 5 and magnificent to watch. This rare encounter is just one of the unique experiences to expect at Thali Thali.
Appreciate African biodiversity
Indulge in an abundance of African birdlife and fynbos at Thali Thali Game Lodge. Home to many bird species, the blue crane and even the Palaearctic migratory birds from northern Europe and Siberia can frequently be spotted here among African vegetation. Three different kinds of vegetation types occur on this 1,460 hectare fynbos reserve namely Strandveld, Renosterveld, and Weskus Savannah. With Saldanha Flats Strandveld being the primary habitat type, a showy display of bulb plants and annual herbaceous plants (in spring) are frequently visible.

From glamping tents to and self-catering chalets, to the original farmhouse, Thali Thali Game Lodge provides exceptionally relaxing 3-star stays – no matter their guests desired lifestyle. The accommodation at Thali Thali includes 8 units arranged around the restaurant with entertainment area featuring bar facilities and an open-air lapa.
The 8 sleeping units consist of three West Coast Style self-catering chalets and five B&B en-suite ‘glamping’ tents, all of which have access to their own braai facilities. The big original farmhouse, lovingly called Ouma se Huis, is also available for guests to book. Separate from the rest of the accommodations this four-bedroom house, with an indoor fireplace, is ideal for families or groups and have hosted many intimate functions and weddings over the years.
Good to know: Thali Thali can accommodate up to 29 guests, with extra capacity on sleeper couches for bigger groups.

Fancy a dazzling destination wedding in the bush? At Thali Thali Game Lodge visitors can host their dream wedding day with a diverse option of set menus available from the restaurant. Be it traditional, sophisticated, formal OR informal feast dishes – they can do it all.
