Break out of the office with these !Khwa ttu Conferences
“Sometimes the best place for a conference is around the fire in the open air.”
We don’t always learn the lessons history can teach us. Modern lifestyles change, our landscapes change, even the weather patterns change, but inside, people are essentially the same now as they were thousands of years ago.
We need to connect with others, be able to listen and process information and apply creative solutions to problems that we face.
We need to gather together and solve our problems or celebrate our successes collectively. This is what !Khwa ttu Conferences offer you and your team 7 days a week.
At !Khwa ttu they believe in the power of nature. They say with confidence that “Sometimes the best place for a conference is around the fire in the open air.”
Nature has a way of relaxing and restoring us. It enables us to let go of city stresses, and uncluttering our minds lets the creative juices flow in abundance.
!Khwa ttu Conferences are not only set in nature, it is also culturally rich and the ideal place to tune in to the ancient wisdom of those who lived before us.
If the setting of !Khwa ttu Conferences have not convinced you that it is the perfect venue for your next conference, then go just for the food.
Jane is the queen of the kitchen and is very quick to say “I’m not a chef, I just cook for people.”
When she comes out to introduce each course her self-deprecating humour is a delight and her flair for “just cooking” is evident in the presentation, creativity and taste of every mouthful.
Jane has a long and happy relationship with food that started when she was very young, inspired by her grandmother whose kitchen was the heart of the neighbourhood. As a child she baked to make pocket money and as a young mother she cooked to stock up the freezers of her busy neighbours.
Moving to many different countries with her banker husband, Jane says she learned by not only working and running her own restaurant, but by asking to see the kitchens in many eateries she visited and poking around, asking questions and lifting pot lids to see for herself what was cooking.
Wherever possible, Jane uses produce grown on the farm or sourced from the area, always fresh, always seasonal and always delicious. Most of the meat dishes and charcuterie comes from the livestock on the farm and the chickens are happily free range.
!Khwa ttu can host 10 to 50 delegates for a conference or event and overnight accommodation is available on the farm and in guesthouses nearby.
A three course lunch usually starts with platters of cheeses, hummus, meatballs, fish bites and other treats accompanied by freshly baked bread and local wines or fruit juices. Jane believes that shared platters facilitate conversation which is what conferencing is all about.
The main meal is a light chicken dish and desert is apple tart with homemade ice cream. A light but filling meal, to avoid that sleepy feeling that follows a rich lunch.
Activities on the farm include walks, bike trails and game drives and a visit via a tractor to the Boma perched on top of the hill.
A !Khwa ttu Conferences treasure hunt is an unusual team building activity for adults but is always enjoyed by all and amidst the laughter and learning, can become fiercely competitive. The treasure map leads you around the farm and includes activities like shooting a balloon with a bow and arrow, matching dominoes depicting animals and their spoor, identifying plants used for medicinal tea and learning the various click sounds used by the SAN tribes.
Creative, in touch with nature and offering a truly unique experience makes !Khwa ttu a memorable choice for events and conferences.
