New Sprint Distance Announced For Westcoast Warmwater Weekend

New sprint distance triathlon set to launch at 8th  Westcoast Warmwater Weekend powered by MiWayLife MiFitLife

Heralded (according to locals) as the world’s most beautiful triathlon, the 8th annual West Coast Warmwater Weekend powered by MiWayLife is set to take place on the 24th and 25th March 2018 in the picturesque West Coast National Park, offering a new sprint distance race to the event.

This year, the weekend offers an Olympic distance and a newly introduced sprint distance triathlon on Saturday 24th, a 3.8km and 1-mile open water swim on Sunday 25th March and SUP’ing and volleyball tournaments throughout the weekend. A splash & dash for the kids also takes place on both days.

New Sprint Distance Announced For WWW2018

“The introduction of a sprint distance enables us to increase the overall offering and appeal to triathletes both on a professional level and beginner level.” Comments Event Organizer Paul Ingpen.

This event provides a great pre-Ironman training weekend as well as offering first-timers an easy transition into their first triathlon. Attracting top elites such as JP Burger, recent Ironman SA 70.3 winner Matt Trautman, Stuart Marais, Kelly van der Toorn and Vicky Van Der Merwe, youngsters looking for new opportunities to showcase their talent ensure there is a fun yet competitive element to the event.

Ensuring we have something for everyone including fireside entertainment and educational activities for the kids has made this an attractive offering for families, resulting in MiWayLife coming on board for the 3rd year to partner with us at this unique event.

All athletes participating in the triathlon will receive complimentary MiFitLife day cover. MiFitLife is a lifestyle product for athletes developed by athletes. This innovative insurance solution rewards exceptional athletic performance and is available only to the qualifying athletes. MiFitLife members gain access to a whole host of benefits designed to keep athletes at the top of their game. Not only are premiums geared toward fitter individuals, but a range of compelling lifestyle benefits and rewards are provided as integral components of MiFitLife.

Comments CEO of MiWayLife Craig Baker “Our goal is to promote health and wellness in every aspect of life, and this family orientated event resonates with all the different facets associated with our brand. We are proud to part of growing this popular event as well as supporting the growth of the local sporting community.”
