Yzerfontein Yellowtail Challenge 2015

Skipper’s briefing on Friday the 7th at 19h30 at the Yzerfontein Boat Club House, the competition is open to all members of the public. Various prize categories available and prizes to be won up to R 20 000 cash for the heaviest yellowtail.

Entry fee: R150 – YBC Members, R200 – non members, R100 – Juniors under 16

Hopefield Fynbos Show

The Hopefield Fynbos Show is a popular annual event held in August in Hopefield, some 120km from Cape Town. The Show exhibit the breathtaking and diverse flora of the “Sandveld and Swartland regions.

The Hopefields Sports Centre is made over into a flower hall for the occassion, and plants are arranged as authentically as possible to give visitors a realistic look at the species of fynbos indigenous to the area.

‘On Broadway themed – By the Fire’ – !Khwa ttu San Cultural and Educational Centre, Yzerfontein

Besides the San-guided tours they offer, their cosy restaurant offer creative dishes besides a roaring fireplace. If you would like to stay at !Khwa ttu for a few days their guest house, bush camp and bush cottage provide appealing accommodation.

The third ‘By the Fire’ evening will be themed: On Broadway. Join in on an evening of warming food, good wine and good music. Transport will be available from Darling and Yzerfontein.

ArcelorMittal Saldanha – Fun Run / Walk, Langebaan

A new route this year! Start and finish at Club Mykonos, Langebaan. Run on the streets through the suburbs of Langebaan. Fast and mostly flat on tar roads.

Medals to the first 400 finishers of the 21.1km, and to the first 200 finishers in the 10km & 5km. Prizes for category winners.
