San Guided Nature Tours at !Khwa ttu

All tours are a journey through space and time. This is a story of a strong culture that lived together with its surroundings for many thousands of years, it’s a story of sadness and loss, but more importantly, it is also a wonderful story of the true value of so called 1st People.

The story takes you on a short downhill walk to the old river bed to continue to a traditional San Village discovering firsthand the technology that supported the development of the San culture. We will come together at the village to enjoy a taste of San social life and learn about the birth of Khwa ttu. The tour will continue on an open vehicle and ride out into the landscape to learn what is so special about this landscape.

We then return to the beginning to enjoy a cup of San herbal tea in the company of an extraordinary San “Elder” and share in some of his magic.

Experience Nature
Tours offer a fascinating insight into the culture, heritage, knowledge, skills and contemporary life of the San. You will be able to see fresh animal tracks, explore a replica San village and get to know the herbaceous fynbos of the area and its many uses.
