The Darling Village Fest 2017 will take place over the weekend of 27, 28, 29 October!
The Darling Village Fest 2017 will be happening in the town of Darling on Friday 27 October until Sunday 29 October. Find Darling on the West Coast Way Culture Route!
We all know that a scarecrow is usually an object made to resemble a human figure, set up to scare birds away from the field where crops are grown.
Darling plans to borrow from this age-old idea, a symbol of peaceful country life.
As part of this new annual event village and farm schools, families, local clubs, outreach initiatives etc. will build scarecrows to be exhibited at the Darling Summerfest which this year will take place from 27 to 29 October 2017. We are aiming for 20 – 30 human-sized creations made from recycled material.
The participants’ effort and creativity will be rewarded by prizes for the three most popular specimen as chosen by the audience of the Scare Crow Party at Evita se Perron on 3 November.
For the visitors of The Darling Village Fest 2017, the scarecrows, spread around the village, will serve as the theme for a competition. People will hand in their votes online at Scare Crow Hotspots, designated places with free Wifi.
So our visitors wander the village looking for scarecrows which in turn guide them to the numerous other attractions of this exciting festival.
Any profit from the Scare Crow Project will be equally shared between three Darling outreach projects.
Darling Village Fest and Scarecrow Challenge 2017
