Vensterklip on the West Coast Way of South Africa
As St. Augustine once said: “The world is a book, and those who don’t travel read only a page.” The Cape West Coast is our book and if you have not yet been to Vensterklip Guest Farm, then you have only read a page of our story.
220km north of Cape Town and just 5km from the popular surfing location, Elands Bay, lies your next favourite holiday spot. Vensterklip Guest Farm and Restaurant brings visitors old-farm glamour and magnificence. Established as the ideal chill spot on the West Coast – whether you need a quick stop at a restaurant on your weekend road trip for comfort food, or whether you’re looking for guesthouses and camping spots – Vensterklip Guest Farm serves as the perfect place to spend some time (or all your time) before your road trip comes to a close.
With an outdoor swimming pool, a wedding and celebration venue, and an indoor and outdoor farm-style restaurant and bar this destination is well-suited to keep the entire family entertained. If you’re looking for a Weskus getaway ready to have your bird-watching, horse riding, hiking, fishing, surfing, and rock art needs met, Vensterklip Guest Farm is your wonderland. Here’s how you can experience a wonderful stay in the Verlorenvlei:
Go camping along one of the largest natural wetlands on the Cape West Coast
The Verlorenvlei is a long estuary that covers areas between Redelinghuys and Elands Bay where about 26% of the Western Cape’s great white pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus) gather. Vensterklip Guest Farm is conveniently situated right on the edge of this marvellous coastal freshwater lake, offering its guests a beautiful camping backdrop. Do you prefer camping in a tent, or do you sway more towards living out of your caravan for a weekend? Either way, Vensterklip Guest Farm has the facilities you need to enjoy an outstanding camping experience.
Stay at ‘Scott House’, ‘Chunkeys’, or ‘Louw’s Manor House’
If camping isn’t up your alley… then Vensterklip Guest Farm’s selection of cottages and backpacker’s accommodation will most likely be right up your street. Take your pick from farm-style finished cottages which offer guests full privacy and sleeps up to eight people. ‘Scott House’ offers guests a beautiful, comfortable, and spacious stay in the veld, away from the main area, while ‘Chunkeys’ is a small flat that forms part of the ‘Robertson’ house complex as a separate entrance. ‘Louw’s Manor House’ is a top pick for guests who would like to accommodate their whole family in one cottage. This historic farmhouse was beautifully restored and has a big stoep that’s perfect for viewing the Verlorenvlei. All provided accommodation at Vensterklip Guest Farm is within close range of The Rooistoor Padstal, where guests can find yummy local treats and essentials.
Explore historic sites & Elands Bay
Located just outside of Vensterklip Guest Farm is the seaside town Elands Bay, a surfer’s paradise – famous for its magnificent waves and rock art. If you’re keen to catch some waves, take a short drive into the small town and find Elands Bay Beach. E – bay (as it’s more commonly known among surfers) is a wonderful spot to get your tan on while your husband surfs, and your dad fishes.
The historic San rock art in Elands Bay Cave is a must-see when staying at Vensterklip Guest Farm. In the 1970s archaeological excavations first began in Elands Bay Cave and the first bones discovered were those of the Stone Age people. Imagine taking a short hike up to the Caves before sunset, viewing ancient art and then revelling in the beautiful moment as the sun goes down over Elands Bay waters – BLISS.
Celebrate your special day
Vensterklip Guest Farm spares no effort when it comes to offering its guests the most enjoyable stay of their dreams. The Guest Farm offers its premises for any type of occasion, from weddings and birthday parties to business groups and team-building events, Vensterklip Guest Farm will make it work, just for you.
All the Guest Farm asks is for visitors to let them know how they would like to spend their time at Vensterklip, and they will arrange a programme that compliments their visitors’ style and budget.
